County Employees Volunteer to Help Hurricane Harvey Victims

June 12, 2019

Earlier this month, Galveston County employees and elected officials volunteered their time to work with the 4B Disaster Recovery Network to repair homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

The Galveston County Commissioners Court put out a call for volunteers to join the efforts of the 4B First Saturday Serve and more than 20 employees answered the call, as did County Judge Mark Henry, Commissioner Darrell Apffel, Commissioner Joe Giusti, and Constable Rick Sharp.

The 4B Disaster Response Network seeks to serve people affected by disaster in the 4B area (from the Beltway to the Beach to the Bay to Brazoria County). The 4B Disaster Response Network was formed to respond to the immediate needs relating to Hurricane Harvey, as well as, prepare communities for future disasters.   The vision of the Organization is to rebuild thousands of homes in the 4B areas that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

4B Disaster Recovery is always looking for groups and individuals to volunteer to help the thousands of residents still in need. You can get more information about volunteer opportunities and how to sign-up by visiting www.4bresponse.org or calling 281-316-9411.
