Warmer Temperatures Coming to Galveston County

High temperatures are expected over the next couple of days. Be on the lookout for possible heat advisories from the US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas.


The summer months bring warmer weather to Galveston County and southeast Texas. Sometimes, these temperature can rise high enough that they become what is known as extreme heat. These hotter temperatures can become dangerous for the elderly or at risk populations as well as those that spend extended periods of time outdoors.


As temperatures start to heat up, keep the following safety tips in mind: - Drink plenty of water - Wear sunscreen - Work outdoors early in the day or in the evening - Don’t leave adults, children, or pets in the car - Be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke
