Walk-up Passports and Marriage Licenses Available in Galveston County

Galveston County, Texas – Although there have been delays in service in surrounding counties, the County Clerk’s Office and District Clerk’s Office in Galveston County are both open to the public and providing services. Some services, such as marriage licenses and passports, do not need to be taken care of in a person’s county of residence.
The League City locations of both offices were closed briefly in March and April as Plexiglas dividers were installed to protect employees and customers. All Galveston County facilities are sanitized on a regular basis.

The Galveston County Clerk’s Office issues marriage licenses, administers county and state elections, maintains the official records of county courts and commissioners court, and is the custodian of a variety of public records.

The Galveston County District Clerk is the custodian of all records of the district courts and handles jury notifications and summons. The District Clerk’s Office also accepts passport applications on behalf of the United States Department of State.
