COVID-19 Antibody Testing Available In Galveston County Starting on Wednesday, June 17th

In an expansion of the COVID-19 testing agreement Galveston County has with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), antibody testing for the coronavirus will be coming to Galveston County residents later this week.

Starting on Wednesday, June 17th, residents will be able to schedule an appointment with UTMB to get the COVID-19 antibody test. This new test will not only let people know if they have been exposed to COVID-19 in the past but will also provide valuable data to health officials about the extent of the pandemic in Galveston County.

Galveston County entered into a partnership with UTMB last month to offer free COVID-19 testing to county residents and it has been a success with hundreds of tests being completed a day.

If would like to schedule an appointment to get the COVID-19 antibody test, you can call 832-632-6731 starting on Wednesday, June 17th. The regular COVID-19 test is still currently available and you can schedule an appointment for it at 832-632-6731. on a mobile device
