COVID-19 Antibody Testing Available For Galveston County Residents

Free COVID-19 antibody testing kicked off yesterday in Galveston County. Through a partnership with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and the County, free standard COVID-19 swab testing and free antibody testing are now available to all residents.

To schedule a COVID-19 antibody test or standard swab test through UTMB, call 832-632-6731.

Galveston County Judge Mark Henry and Local Health Authority Dr. Philip Keiser both got tested for COVID-19 antibodies yesterday. “We wanted to show the public that this is a quick and painless test that produces results in just 24-48 hours.” Said County Judge Mark Henry. The antibody test will let people know whether or not they have been exposed to the virus and will provide valuable data to the Galveston County Health District and local health officials.
