Great Parks in the Bayshore Area

Galveston County operates two amazing parks in the bayshore area that help provide relaxing and fun recreational areas to local residents. If you haven’t already checked out Bayside Regional Park or Bayshore Park, add them to your list of things to do this summer.

Bayshore Park is located at 5437 East FM 646, Bacliff, Texas and sits right on Galveston Bay. It’s the perfect place to walk your dogs and enjoy a morning sunrise. The park also has a ton of other features that make it the perfect place to get out and have fun.

Available amenities include:

  • Boat Ramp

  • Covered pavilion with 13 picnic tables

  • Pier

  • Numerous covered picnic areas

  • Baseball field with practice backstops

  • Playground

  • Restroom Facilities

  • Walking trails

The other park serving our bayshore communities is the relatively new and still growing Bayside Regional Park, which is also located in Bacliff, Texas at 4833 10th Street. The biggest highlight of this park is the brand new community center, which houses many different programs for Galveston County seniors. This facility is available for rent as well by calling the Galveston County Parks office at 409-934-8100.

In addition to the new community center, a new set of playground equipment was opened in the Fall of 2018. Plans are coming along on a new walking trail and new soccer fields that will help round out the completion of the park. This new park will become one of the cornerstones of the Galveston County parks system once it is fully finished.

Galveston County is a great place to live, work, and play, in part because of the many great parks available for residents to visit and take advantage of. Take some time this summer and check out these two great parks in the bayshore area.
