New Upgrades Coming to Elva Lobit Park

Elva Lobit Park

After years of planning, Galveston County is moving forward with updates for Elva Lobit Park, located at 1901 East FM 646, League City, Texas 77573.

Parks and Cultural Services Director, Julie Diaz, looks forward to making Elva Lobit Park attractive and more accommodating for visitors again, “I’m hoping these improvements will result in more park usage with visitors and pavilion rentals. I’m so excited to see the new additions in the coming months.”

The new upgrades will include brand new restroom facilities, replacing the current restrooms that had become dated. Also part of the project is the demolition of the old pavilion area and the construction of a new one.

Commissioner Ken Clark, who represents Precinct 4 where the park is located, supports the updates to the Park and stated, “The improvements will make the park more user-friendly for individuals and families alike. Hopefully the added improvements will create greater usage of the park.”

Demolition of the existing structures will be completed by June 6th. The new restrooms will be installed by July 2019 and construction on the new pavilion will be completed in the Fall 2019.
